Houses, Tours and Finishing

Fairly busy around here lately. Lots of stuff going on, news to share, and such.

I think I may have caught ‘Finish-It-Upitis’. This is a rare disorder, as many of you know who may have read the other Stephanie’s newest book. I am not overtly interested in any new knitting, (sure, there are things I want to knit, but I am not pressed to start any) and I have not been searching pages of yarn that is pretty recently recently. (No, there is no fever, no sweating, just feeling normal really) I just want to finish what I have going, such as my shorts, my socks for my mom, the baby sweater, and the socks for my cousins. It isn’t like I need the needles because the ones I would need for my future projects are not being used. It isn’t like I have gifts I have to give, I don’t have any that are on my needles for people to give to any time soon (my cousin’s birthday is in Jan, so they won’t need to be finished for months). I am also caught up on the blogs I read since the end of the school year, so I have all of these summer months to work on things.

So, since I have been itching to finish things, I did start one small, little, project to finish for the thrill of finishing something. (It doesn’t count as starting something if you finish it in less than a day. My rule)

I have been wanting to make one of these for a while, because I think they are awesome! Since I don’t have the Mason-Dixon book, I have put it on my wish list, waiting for the day I can make some. Then, I contacted Robyn, who told me the pattern is on the back of Peaches & Cream yarn! I had some peaches and cream! So I knit this up yesterday, and I love it. I didn’t use the P&C, but some Bernat Cottontots I had that matched. I like it. Not for me though. I will be making more for gifts later in the year, but not right now. I will also be making some for me, in different colors. I have an idea for the colors, but I have to wait until I get a better feel for my new kitchen.

New kitchen?! Yes, we have bought a house! Well, we have said we will buy it and then we will actually get the house in the middle of July. I’m so happy and excited! This house was not what we had intended to look for when we started looking, however it is in our price range and above and beyond everything else we looked at that was on the market in our price range. Yay! Here is a picture of the outside.

I don’t have to do a thing to this house. Seriously, it is 5 years old, so nothing needs fixed. The people who lived there have fantastic color choices, so no painting is needed. I can’t wait!

Plus, I joined the Tour de France Knit Along. How fun is that? Since Hubby is into biking, and the Tour, this means I will have something to do with him. If you would like to join, you can still do so if you go over to the blog. I am going to be knitting Fair Isle Fingerless gloves.

I have to figure out how to put the button on the side. Another of my summer goals.
