TdF Progress

The Tour ends in a few days. Thus far, my progress is as such on my fingerless gloves.

I think it is pretty good, no? This is the first Fair Isle project, and I was skeptical of the two grey colors together at first, however it appealed to me more when the white was added. I am ready to start the thumb (or bind off stitches for the thumb, or whatever the appropriate terminology for this process is). We will see how it goes. I haven’t progressed far because of the moving we have been doing.

Yesterday, I made some chilled borsht along with stuffed squash, homemade bread, marinated beans, and a yogurt slaw. I don’t usually like beets much, but the borsht was good, and a beautiful purple color. I wish I had taken a picture. Alas, it is all gone now. Very nice for some of the hot weather we are having. It was an excellent first feast, if I do say so myself! :o)

Also, we have a new addition that has come with us to our new home. Her name is Freyja, and she is one of the kittens from the farm. She is very helpful. She helps me with my knitting…

(I have been very careful about watching her, since I know it is a big problem if she swallows yarn. However, I am still impressed by how fast she can chew through fingering weight. Luckily she didn’t swallow any and it was the end I wasn’t using.) She was also helping Davis set up the electronic equipment.

She’s under the entertainment center. Doesn’t she look slightly crazy? Yet still prim and proper.
