Actual Fiber Content

First, non-fiber discussion. Yesterday we had a surprise engagement for my sister and her boyfriend. They got engaged right before Christmas. We had over 50 people at our house! It was fun though, I hope they enjoyed it as well.

Before the party I went to CC Knit group in Eldersburg, which was just Mia and I at first, but Jess joined us just before we left. I worked on my socks I ripped out last weekend. Since I reduced the number of stitches, to make them fit, and now they spiral. I have decided I like it though, so I’m going to keep going. I’ll post more later this week.

I finished my Irish Hiking scarf last week, but had been putting off taking pictures due to poor lighting. But now it is all finished.

It’s made from Bernat Alpaca Natural Blends.

It goes great with my MD shirt, doesn’t it!? It isn’t for me, I will be giving it as a gift to a family member. But probably not until Christmas. I didn’t get it done for the past holiday, so I have a BIG head start for next year!

I also finished another of my goals! Today I went to join the spinners at Knitters Nest today. While there I finished my purple fiber I’ve been working on.

I made it a bit thicker than compared to what I was working on before, but I think it will be fine. I was talking with the group about how I also had some bright pink fiber, and had the idea that I could ply it with this purple, but after seeing them together, I don’t think I’m going to do that. So I’ll ply it up and figure out what to do with it after I see how many yards I get.

Plus, after visiting, I really, really, want a wheel. I’ll be a while getting one though.

What did you do this weekend?

  1. Your Irish Hiking Scarf looks great! So comfy and warm. And I like the 2 columns approach, I did the same for the one I made for my nephew. Great minds… 🙂

  2. I like the finished scarf. And I am happy to hear that the party went off without any problems. And the kids loved the cupcakes and eclair. I may have some some fiber for you if you are ready for more. I need to clean up the fiber stash some. I am not only a yarn enabler but a fiber one…..
