This weekend we went to Arlington/Washington D.C. for a wedding of some of our friends. We went down for the rehearsal on Friday, stayed down there for Saturday, attended the wedding, and came home Saturday night. Because of course I had to be back for my last weekend of training before the tri!
Before the wedding, Davis and I went to the Nat’l Arboretum. It was a beautiful day, very warm and sunny. There were tons of azaleas blooming in all shapes, sizes, and colors.
There were other flowers there as well that were also just as pretty…
Even the maple trees had a spot of color for the spring.
Everything smelled so good, plus there were the bonsai to look through, which is always intriguing.
This one was over 300 years old!
I am almost done my Forest Shoulder Shawl. This was it at the proscribed 195 sts before you are supposed to start the border.
It doesn’t look very big does it? Plus, I have all of this yarn left! When I weighed it, it was over 100g!
I decided to make it larger, so I think I added at least two more repeats for it. I started the border this evening, so I will hopefully have it finished this week some time.
Today, I went biking and running with Kacey. Tomorrow, I have to get up extra early and go swimming, getting as close to race-day conditions as possible. So at 5:30am, I should be in a pool (Because Kacey told me to!) The triathlon is next Sunday… only one week left! I’m a little nervous, but it should be good. I’ll try to keep a positive outlook.
Just like this guy.
Pretty weeds. Makes you want to go and plant some in the yard doesn’t it?
And good luck with the training this week. I hope to see you for at least a few minutes Saturday.
