Basically, that I have too many. (I don’t think that you can have too many books, however not all of mine fit on the shelves. I guess I just need more shelves.)
For my 101 in 1001, I have been neglecting posting. Well, no more! All stats have been updated on my progress of various items. I was surprised by how much I had been doing was on my list and got crossed off. (Although, now that I have been knocked-up, I am thinking of revamping my original list, since I wasn’t expecting this to happen this quickly.)
I decided to figure out how many books I have so that I can calculate how many I need to read to fulfill my goals. First I went through my books, organized them, got rid of the ones I don’t need anymore, and then I counted.
No wait, 378.
Hold on, 383…
Unfortunately, between my birthday, husband buying books, and people giving me books that they are done with, the list keeps being added to. Not to mention the magazines that I have been receiving/given. I did not include magazines, cookbooks, textbooks, field guides, or children’s books (excepting those that are classics) in my count. If I had done that, I’m sure I would be well beyond 550! So I have decided to cap my count at 380, and increase my percentage of books I would read by a bit.
How much am I going to read? Originally I thought I might read 15%. That is 57 books! Granted, I love to read, but there is no way that I am going to complete 57 books in less than 101 days, especially with a baby on the way. Even 10% is 38 books. I am going to go with the ambitious 5%, or 19 books. I think I might be able to do that much.
3 down, 16 more to go…
